Community Reviews
This Weber griddle insert turns an existing Genesis or Spirit grill into a flat-top for eggs, pancakes, bacon, smash burgers, vegetables, and other small or liquid foods that would fall through grates. It is also praised for solid build quality, good seasoning, and frequent use, with some noting it can fit family-sized cooking and is easier to swap back to normal grilling than a separate griddle. The main drawbacks are cleanup, storage, and the need to cool and season it after use. Fit is limited to newer Genesis models, and cheaper alternatives are available.

It works for pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, onions, ground meats, smash burgers, chicken thighs, vegetables, fajitas, and stir-fry. The flat surface also helps with steak crust and keeps small or liquid foods from falling through grates.
It is cheaper than a standalone griddle and adds griddle cooking without taking extra deck or patio space. The tradeoff is that cleanup and storage are more cumbersome than a dedicated griddle, since it must be cooled, cleaned, seasoned, and stored.
No. It fits 2016-forward Genesis 3-burner models, but not older 2011 S-330 Series 1 grills. A separate similar griddle is needed for older Weber 3-series models.
On a Genesis, grease drains from the back-right corner into the bottom tray and drip pan area, and flare-ups have not been an issue. Turning off at least the right burner before pushing a lot of grease down helps, especially with bacon.
Yes, it can be left installed or stored on the grill outside year-round without rust or seasoning problems if the grill is kept covered. One setup uses the side hooks for the grate and keeps the smaller grate in the cabinet when the griddle is in use.

I tried a topper, but it just felt too cramped so I ended up buying a full size 4 burner griddle that sits next to my S-330. I also didn't like having to clean the grease channel of the topper (kind of a hassle compared to a grease port and container of my dedicated griddle. Nice concept though if you don't want to bother with two units or don't have the room.

I got a cheap knock off once and it started to peel after a few months. I ended up getting a Weber brand and I've had no issues, and I use it a few times a week.
