Not terribly useful in my experience. The glass lid only really helps if you're using the slow cooker setting, and in pretty much every Instant Pot model I've tried (even the Pro model), the slow cooker setting sucks.

It's useful for some fringe stuff like hotpot or for keeping soup warm/reheating it.

Other than that, it's marginally useful.

I can see this being helpful in three ways:1) when sautéing, it keeps steam and stuff from going all to the ceiling.2) an easier way to use instant pot as a serving tray. The normal cover can be cubersome. Also, in places like a potluck people don't have to keep opening it to see what it is.3) storage in fridge

The inner pot of Instant Pot Pro has handles and can be used on a stove. With this glass lid, you can turn the inner pot into a normal stove cooking pot.

Not terribly useful in my experience. - No good as a shield for single combat. Get a solid metal one instead.

I just got my first instant pot a few weeks ago and I bought the lid for yogurt. I've heard the seal on the normal lid can induce unwanted smells into yogurt.

I also used the lid to store a pot of chili in the fridge. I'm glad I have it so far.

You really want at least 2 seal rings—one of anything that smells and one for bland things like basic rice or yogurt.

The yogurt use case is reason enough to get this if you make a lot of yogurt. You don't have the big standard lid and it's parts to clean.

I wish it was 1.5" bigger (TWSS). So that it could cover a large frying pan. Sadwalk
