For travel routers, hard to beat GL.iNet routers.

They could have won if they had just used hardware supported by OpenWRT. Sad.

And did not have all the bad PR associated with a likely ban.

I've had great luck with this model and have several Gl.iNet Beryl routers that have been great too. I remember before buying one wondering why anyone would want one of these. Then I bought one... used for connecting ethernet to a printer that required ethernet but didn't have a port close by. Then one as a hardwired repeater in an area my regular router didn't reach but I did have an ethernet port. Then started using as a wifi repeater to automatically connect all my family's devices to a hotel wifi without having to connect each device individually (and name/PW same as our home network so everything just auto connects). Both the TP-Link and the Beryl models have been absolutely rock-solid in terms of reliability and up-time. Super easy to configure. I was reluctant and now own 5 of these darn things for one-off projects between my travel, house, and office.

Absolutely go with GL.iNet router instead. I will avoid TP-Link products.
