Careful with the pill form (as opposed to sprinkling the powder in some apple sauce or something) as it can actually harm your liver if your liver function is already reduced.

It kinda does, though the results are mixed in scientific studies. It can help protect healthy liver cells in people with fatty liver/fibrosis/cirrhosis and reduce overall blood sugar in people with Type 2 diabetes.
The caveat is that the purity of these supplements can vary wildly and not everyone will react the same. Also there can be side effects like watery stool, gas, etc. I have no idea about the other ingredients in this product, tho.
I've been taking it for a while and my liver enzymes did show improvement up to a point. Like any supplement, YMMV.
