No matter which dashcam you get, make sure it has a Sony IMX678 Starvis 2 sensor at least for the front camera. You'll thank me later.

Good advice! Starvis 2 has bigger pixels, better microlenses and they put the wires on the back instead of the front of the sensor.

Agree. The sensor is irreplaceable, and the ultimate reason to get a dashcam

I have a Rove front dash cam that I am happy with. Anyone actually use on of these Azdome cameras? Family member is looking to get one

Did you find out whether this does or does not have that sensor? Seems not, upon a quick look/glance at the page. Confused

It is a feature that would typically be advertised if the cam has it. If it's not advertised, you can assume it most likely doesn't use the Sony sensor.

I have an Azdome that was like 20 bucks. I'm using it as a rear camera. Daytime quality is decent but nighttime is atrocious. No issues so far with connecting to it with my phone when I needed to.

I agree, but since they brought it up, I figured they at least checked into it. My current cams use it (VIOFO A229 Pro). They did not come out and say this one was missing that feature. The way they phrased it made it ambiguous and I wondered if I missed it.
