I don't run, but I own a couple pairs of these for long distance walking. A little awkward at first, but once you get used to them, they are super comfortable!

This guy has to be baiting us. These shoes aren't even comfortable to race in, much less NOT race in. They really shouldn't be touched by most people. People wearing these running 4hr marathons are doing more harm than good.

Agreed with a 4hr marathon. I don't think the benefit of a carbon plates is even seen till mid 7 min miles. Otherwise, they just feel strange and wear very quickly.

It's not like you're going to injure yourself just by walking in them. They're simply less efficient running below a certain pace, and the tradeoff for being so lightweight is reduced durability. Even Conor McGregor has been seen cycling and boxing in Alphaflys. To him, these are as disposable as $5 Walmart shoes compared to the average Slickdealer.

Ive seen and heard this comment many times from runners. Whats the problem with this? Yes, they are not designed for such use and you do not get the benefit of the carbon plate, and depending on the shoe it could be less comfortable than a shoe without a plate, but why not and who cares? Tons of people wear clothing more for fashion than for function. People also own cars designed for the track and/or 'rugged' SUV's and never race them or take them off-road. Also shoes go on sale, so a plated shoe doesnt necessarily cost more than a non-plated shoe.

For running, I didnt like the instability of the New Balance Super Comp Trainer V1's when I had them, and they were a bit big and clunky, but they were so squishy with a super airy upper, they were fantastic for walking or standing around particularly in warmer months. I liked them so much for walking, I bought a 2nd pair just for that purpose. Maybe I did it wrong, but I am glad I didnt listen to the people saying not to wear plated shoes for walking.

The point is.. It doesn't make economical sense. But, guess what? It's America, you can do anything you want. So, my insight.. You only get maybe 300M on a pair of those (some people say much less). If you run 20M a week you're doing over 1k miles a yr. You're buying almost 4 a yr.. So, I reserve anything w/ a carbon plate for speed work or events so that I'm not constantly burning through rather expensive sneakers. But, to each their own.

I was a firm believer in these shoes for years as an avid runner. However, I recently developed a stress fracture in my ankle that my orthopedist swears are attributed to running in these sneakers. Once I recover, I am going to avoid carbon plated shoes. Just my experience I recognize that.

This is a decent price, specially infront of the fall marathon season. I got them last year in November for a similar price.

For those wondering, yeap, they are carbon plated shows, aimed for half and full marathoners. Most might say they are Nike's best marathon shoe behind the alphafly versions.

If you're in the market for an upcoming fall marathon shoe, these are a good option at that price.

And as other have mentioned, they are designed for intermediate/adv runners. Not that they can't be used by anyone, but the major benefits come for faster runners (lighter, higher cadence, mid foot strike, energy return...)
