I don't know if this is a fluke but i just had to rent a car and Costco was way more expensive than just going straight to Enterprise. Like 300/week vs 400-450

I feel like Costco has the best pricing for most of the time, but not all the time.
Even if Costco doesn't have the best pricing, I like that it exists so that there's competition and keeps prices lower for consumers.

I don't know if this is a fluke but i just had to rent a car and Costco was way more expensive than just going straight to Enterprise. Like 300/week vs 400-450

For my vacation dates, they are only offering full-size car or greater. I have been tracking for a few months now, taking advantage of price drops. This "promotion" jacked up the prices by $15 from a few days ago.

Sometimes when I see a better deal direct like at Budget, then at the very last step to reserve the car, the added taxes etc actually make it more expensive than at Costco. So annoying to take the time to fill everything out then to be tricked lol

Because the mini van is a guzzler. I was given a premium upgrade from my compact suv to a Lincoln navigator. 12 miles per gallon, no thanks. I was going to drive that from San Francisco to Vancouver. Crazy gas prices in the west coast.

I had an outstanding rental i could cancel and rebook, but the price went up $20. I didnt book that long ago. Not worth it for $5 worth of digital coupon.

This is isn't even funny— this is pure deception by these companies.


There's a reason why legislation is being passed in some states for "All-in" pricing models. It's to prevent deceptive "drip pricing" practices such as these.


Call this out every time so that consumers get in motion toward real price transparency.

Thanks OP. I was just pricing for an upcoming trip in August. Costco pricing beat all of the others. $25 gift card is a nice bonus!
