Eligible to unlock after 12 months of paid service on Straight Talk (plans start at $35/mo.).
Can also be used with Total Wireless and Tracfone out of the box, without needing to unlock it first. If you do wish to unlock it after 12 months of using it on one of those two services, you will need to call the respective provider's customer service number and request to have your unit "rebranded" to Total Wireless or Tracfone first. Note: Not all customers service agents know how to do the rebranding, so you may have to call a few times until you get one.
However if you do not care about unlocking it eventually, and simply only want to use it strictly on Total Wireless / Tracfone out of the box, rebranding isn't necessary. Just use the device with your Total Wireless / Tracfone SIM card.

Community Reviews
This locked Motorola Edge 2024 stands out as a solid daily-use phone with strong battery life and generally good performance. The camera is fine in normal light, but low light photos are weak. The big catch is the Straight Talk and TracFone unlock process, which is tied to the phone's IMEI and requires the plan to be activated on this specific device. Moving another plan over does not count toward unlocking, so using it can involve extra setup and a year of waiting.
The phone can work with a compatible SIM directly for daily calling and messaging use.
The battery life supports all-day use for marketplace browsing and client communications.
The device can be a good fit when low-light photography is not a priority.
The unlock clock is tied to the specific phone's IMEI, so transferring another plan's time does not satisfy the requirement.
Unlocking may require rebranding steps, and the plan time still may not count toward unlocking if it was attached to a different phone.
The process can require line swapping and reliance on TracFone CS for rebranding, which adds significant hassle.
The listing's note that the SIM card is not included can indicate the phone may not be brand new.
