Yeah, that's expensive too. Unless you specifically need that for a bright room, I don't know why someone would choose that over OLED that's half or less the cost for the same size.

That depends...some people, as you pointed out, need bright rom performance

but even among OLED's there are significant price/ performance differences

For instance...the TV that won the recent Value electronics shootout ( for OLED's ) is the Samsung S95H

I can see that same individual looking at the Sony Bravia 9 Mk2 as their alternative to the top reviewed Samsung S95H. They are only a few hundred apart as of now

Its closer to launch price as a this year's model. Check out 65QM8K pricing/history for comparison.

Furthermore this one has poor motion people are reporting with the new panel so last years version may be better for some use cases.

I'm shopping around for a tv. I'm leaning toward led because the tv will be on a lot in this household and I'm scared of burn in with oled. Maybe I should pull the trigger on this one.

I've had a 65" C5 for 13 months. It's on from 9am - 12am every day (wfh, usually news and or a movie for background noise, sometimes music but it's all controlled by an AppleTV streamer. I don't have any issues with burn in or it not being bright enough. B4 in another room struggles during daylight, s90d in bedroom is pretty cool but if I'm watching in bed on a Saturday afternoon even the Sammy struggles.

I have a couple MiniLED 43" sets that are pretty bright but don't compare to OLED, blooming and washed out blacks. They are VA panels from 2023. I'm looking for an 83-85" for a new build out and really want to try the new RGB minis but at this price I'll get a G5/6 or S95f/H with EPP and come out ahead.

This only scored 65 out 100 by Consumer Reports and wasn't recommended. The Samsung QN90D/F are the highest scoring leds.

This has good enough blacks and can perform much better in brighter rooms than OLED.

Some people don't like having blinds closed when sitting in the living room in the afternoon.

However, this is still overpriced. It's a new model so it's going to come down even more in price.

Good luck on finding a G6 or S95H for $1500

You may be able to get this TCL ( or the Hisense competitive model) in an 85" around black Friday for close to the $1500 price point

I think you missed the point. This is a 65 RGB mini led. It's more than an OLED. I want an 85inch in my new theater, but mini RGB is more expensive. I will be able to find an 83 G5/6 at a better price.

But you are suggesting you will find an 83 G6 at the price of the TV in this thread($1500)?

Today...since we are looking at the today price of the LED.. a 65 G6 is $3200

G5 is not possible since that is sold out
