The De'Longhi Magnifica Evo is a superautomatic espresso machine that stands out for convenient espresso and crema at a refurb price. The factory refurb units are often described as looking brand new, with solid coffee output, hot drinks, and easy maintenance once the grinder is dialed in. The milk system gets the most criticism, with recurring complaints about lukewarm froth, cleaning hassle, and extra failure risk, while the 90 day warranty is short. A practical pick if you want automatic espresso without paying premium prices.

People downvoting because you speak the truth. smh.

Superautomatics are finicky beasts, y'all. Go try one side by side with a semi-automatic at Willam Sonoma if you're doubting it.
People are downvoting, because a superautomatic espresso machine with a disfunctional automatic milk frother for $277 is still a great deal compared to a machine with working automated frothing system costing over $500. A bad automated milk frother is hardly a deal breaker for many people.

I found it weak compared to a basic espresso machine. The main problem I ran into was the drinks were way too weak, in which they tell you to turn the grind setting to finer... but then the espresso drips out like nothing, which then they say is too fine and to make it coarser. I personally hated this machine compared to a basic espresso machine. It makes equally as much of a mess as it's constantly purging water, and last, the hot drinks weren't very hot. I returned my machine, however if it was the only thing I ever tried out, I would've probably been satisfied with it for this price, but if you've got even the slightest bit of experience with a basic espresso machine you probably won't appreciate this any more for its price premium. You must have pressed the double shot button when you only wanted a single shot.

No, it's because the pressure isn't high enough for a super fine grind. (It can also be caused by too many oils in the beans.) The higher end machines have more pressure (higher number of "bars" of pressure.)

In for one. Seems like a good unit especially for the price with factory refurb and assurion warranty. I guess the biggest gripe on all these machines is temp, milk froth cleaning and general maintenance.

I assume these are returned units that customers merely didn't like or maybe had minor issues that presumably were fixed.

After a few hours of research, it seems like from brand to brand there is no perfect machine, you get closer the more you spend but I don't want to spend $1500.

You can find how many shots have been previously pulled on your unit:

While on, hold the pre-ground and settings/2x button for 5 secs.

It will beep and a bunch of lights will show up. Pressing each light will show how many times that coffee or process has occurred.

The number of times is shown by the number of blinks of the red indicator lights, with the right most descale light indicating 1x, then the next one 10x, and so on.

More info can be found in the service manual here:

Best superauto deal I've seen! I almost wish I needed one. Test it thoroughly before the first 30 days are up.
