I have one of these I got off an Amazon Deal couple years ago. The can is bulletproof.

The mechanism for opening the flow can stick but it definitely keeps it anything from spilling

I hesitate to buy this because of the narrow base. Seems like if you're making a quick trip to the gas station, you'd have to lay it on its side in your trunk, in which case you'd be depending on the spout to keep it from spilling

You don't have anything to tie it down so it doesn't do that? Not even a shoestring? Nothing?

I had the prior version of this can with metal flexible spout that connected with hook and latch connection. The can was fine but I couldn't get it to stop leaking from the spout connection. Hopefully these spouts work better. Anyone have actual experience with these?

That's why your trunk has anchor points. Have you never used a Bungie cord before

Then maybe a jerry-can style gas can isn't for you (no offense). If you want a good metal can that's not a jerry-can (which are meant to be secured in a mount) then you'll probably want to look at a nice round gas can. Even then, you're still going to want to secure that with a cord or strap for travel in a car.

Sadly these gas cans are not California compliant and cannot be shipped here. Not sure what that means but I guess it leaks a lot of vapor

If the spout is plastic, that's the fail point.

It says 2 pack but then you can select "pieces" and it doesn't change the price whether I select 1 or 2. I don't even know what they mean by "pieces".

I like how their site tries so hard to look like Home Depot's site. Temu Home Depot

Same thing happened to me. I ended up getting one of those cheap 1-gallon plastic cans and swapping the spout with it and it fit perfectly.
