I just wanted to let people know that I read somewhere that you can only use this for N64 games? I figured you could just remap buttons but I'm not sure if it's that easy? I could be absolutely wrong and someone please correct me but I wanted to say least mention it because I was looking for an 8bit ultimate and almost bought one of these. If you were buying one of these and don't intend on using it for just N64, just make sure it will work how you intended. Thanks.

Dang, I thought this was the 2.4GHz version that comes with the N64 dongle/receiver.

Are you using it on a Switch, Switch 2, PC or OG N64? (I presume not the N64, but it's an option with an adapter)

I believe remapping buttons is likely depending on where you plan to use it. I believe Switch 2 has native button mapping, PC games and emulators you often map the buttons yourself.

I meant that I would think it would be simply a matter of mapping buttons like on a PC and it wouldn't be an issue. Apparently with this there's some kind of issue. I wish I knew more but I wanted to post in case that it helps someone not expecting this as an all around controller.

I use one of these 8bitDo 64 controllers with a BlueRetro Receiver (from AliExpress) on my OG N64. Works great.

In my experience only the Nintendo branded Switch Pro controllers let you remap. Third party is greyed out for anything else i have tried.
