Something doesn't seem right. It claims one capsule contains 200 mg of mag. glycinate when other popular brands usually require 2 capsules to equal 200 mg and those capsules are already pretty huge. To fit 200 mg into one capsule the size would have to be twice the size of the other brands, way larger than a person could comfortably swallow. But the pics show these to be about the same size as one 100 mg capsule.

Thank Regan era Republicans for killing legislation that wanted to regulate supplements.

They can legally lie on supplement label in the US. Unless it's tested by an independent lab just assume it's all a lie.

Per the review pictures on amz the capsules look quite big, so the contents might be accurate in quantity, although the quality of the product remains uncertain as is not a renowned company

I am talking about the review pics. If you look at a standard 100 mg capsule or tablet they're huge. I've taken them before. One 200 mg capsule would need to be twice that size which I can't imagine swallowing.

it depends what size capsules and filler they are using, most make them in size 0 or 00, 200mg magnesium and 800mg of filler would still fit in one capsule.

Also remember that only 18% of magnesium glycinate is actually elemental Magnesium. You're only getting 36mg which is ~9% DV

Some facts:
  1. Amazon now requires all supplements to go through independent testing at their approved labs, with results sent directly to Amazon.
  2. Magnesium glycinate is only about 14% actual magnesium by weight. The rest is the glycine + manufacturing fillers needed.
  3. To get 200mg of magnesium content, you need roughly 1400mg of 'magnesium glycinate'.
  4. A "00" capsule of pure magnesium glycinate should hold about 700-800mg of powder. A "000" capsule might take around 1500mg if you're lucky, but "000" capsules are really rare since they are really big and most production lines aren't set up for it.
I'll leave out a bunch of technical info that's not necessary.

Most magnesium supplements are a borderline scam, usually having a very low dose per capsule or using oxide which is poorly absorbed. If you want a true 200mg per serving, find tablets. There are a few out there, and you really have to look, that make 200mg PER TABLET magnesium glycinate products. The tablets will weigh about 1.6-1.7g each.

If someone has this and can weigh a few capsules, we will know for sure.

My guess? These are probably 100mg each "00" capsules, and they are trying to sell them off before Amazon finds out. Or they really are "000" capsules (really large) and they barely hit 200mg, so they are selling them off because they are too big or just barely making 200. Just a guess.

Oh, and look out for this deception;
"Magnesium 200 mg per capsule (as magnesium glycinate chelate buffered -magnesium glycinate chelate and magnesium oxide)"

Chelated or buffered, it means they filled it with mostly Magnesium Oxide to increase the Mg amount. It might be 200mg actual magnesium in this capsule but it's mostly poorly absorbed Oxide and you are paying for Glycinate. This example is not the item posted here.

I ordered these two days ago and received them yesterday and the pills are quite large. The pills are about the size of a fish oil capsule. I also have a 500 mg pill from a different maker and they are smaller than these.

Can you weigh them? Picture next to and on top of a quarter?
