Makes using a cheap plan with voice/sms only alongside a cheap data only eSIM (like Ubigi) impossibly difficult.

This refurbished Galaxy S22+ is a capable older Android phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, solid everyday performance, and enough battery for nearly a full day in some cases. The comments also point to decent long term reliability, with some units still working well after years of use. The main concerns are battery wear, overheating, and occasional network or reboot issues, plus the phone is nearing the end of Samsung security support in February 2027. Cosmetic scuffs on the body have also shown up on refurb units, so it feels best suited to buyers who can live with age and tradeoffs.
Light phone users who want a capable Android for everyday apps, because the S22+ can still run fine and some units hold nearly a full day of battery life.
People who need a compact unlocked phone for basic use, because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is still capable for most tasks.
Buyers comfortable with a used-looking refurb, because the body can show corner scuffs while the screen stays scratch-free and the phone still works fine.
Buyers who want long software support, because the S22+ stops receiving security updates in February 2027.
People who need a phone that stays cool during streaming or outdoor use, because the S22+ can overheat in a pocket or on hot days.
Heavy phone users who need all-day battery, because the S22+ can require multiple charges per day and battery life can worsen after updates.
Travelers who depend on strong cellular reception, because the S22+ can miss signals in places where newer phones still connect.

I'm still using my S20 FE 5G UW with 512GB Samsung Micro-SD to store all my important stuff, not trusting a cloud backup that reads all my personal files. I have a Samsung USB-c flash drive to backup all of it too, just in-case...
Battery still going strong, I only charge to 85% anyway.
