my issue with Samsung S22 and its ilk is, if you have two SIMs (like an eSIM and a physical SIM) you cannot separate which is for voice and text and which is for data. So disappointed in my S22 and S22+. My Motorlas and Pixel easily let you designate which SIM to use for voice and SMS and which different SIM to use for data.

Makes using a cheap plan with voice/sms only alongside a cheap data only eSIM (like Ubigi) impossibly difficult.

I wouldn't take the risk with the S22 variant. There is a lawsuit right now due to a boot looping and eventual death of the phone with the chips unsoldering themselves. I had one with the issue. If you search online, you can see how common it is with the S22 models. It seems like it is a matter of time with the device on when it'll happen to the phone.

Community Reviews

This refurbished Galaxy S22+ is a capable older Android phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, solid everyday performance, and enough battery for nearly a full day in some cases. The comments also point to decent long term reliability, with some units still working well after years of use. The main concerns are battery wear, overheating, and occasional network or reboot issues, plus the phone is nearing the end of Samsung security support in February 2027. Cosmetic scuffs on the body have also shown up on refurb units, so it feels best suited to buyers who can live with age and tradeoffs.

  • The refurbished S22+ body can arrive scuffed on corners while still showing no screen scratches and working normally.

    dreamer3kx

  • The S22+ can maintain near full-day battery life for some day-to-day use patterns.

    bluekiwi

  • The S22+ can keep working well for years, with battery performance declining mainly due to age.

    jorgito2001

  • The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the S22+ can handle most tasks for typical smartphone use.

    Stinktooth

  • The S22 series can suffer from poor battery life that may not last through the day even for light use.

    Craig924liubhs02

  • The S22 series can have overheating concerns that may require reviewing fixes before purchase.

    SkillfulPiranha7944SkillfulPiranha7944

  • The S22+ can stop receiving security updates around February 2027, limiting remaining support for normal users.

    ECartmanGeoffreyK24

  • The S22 line can face a boot-loop and eventual death risk tied to chip unsoldering over time.

I ordered one of these recently, the body was a little scuffed up on the corners but no scratches on the screen and worked fine.

I mean I don't doubt it but the thing that matters is the seller, not the fact that they're on ebay? You're not calling this out on BestBuy's listings of Samsung phones on ebay.

If this is a legit S22+ deal (assuming it is), I'm still using my S22+ almost 4 years now & still works GREAT. Battery is no longer the best, but that's likely due to years of use.

If you actually need phone service, might as well buy the Pixel 10 deal over at Mint right now.

Definitely more initial cost $365/$370 ish but much better deal

That's why grammar and reading comprehension actually mean something when your only form of communication is text. I read their statement as them calling out all refurbished phones on eBay because they use replacement screens from a bad 3rd party, not that those parties are the only ones selling fakes. Refurbished and recertified are NOT the same thing. BB also sells products that are refurbished by third parties, as do a lot of other retailers who can source their products from a supplier or contractor. Only "recertified" and proprietary phrases like "Geek Squad Certified Refurbished" should carry connotations of quality repair work. Remain skeptical about all devices that are simply "refurbished" independent of seller.

But someone else said they "almost" get a full day of battery out of theirs, and that makes it a pass for me based on the phone model itself. My Pixel Fold battery lasts ~3 days with moderate use. I just need a second phone to use for corporate authorization so I can put a custom OS on my Google phone.
