Makes using a cheap plan with voice/sms only alongside a cheap data only eSIM (like Ubigi) impossibly difficult.
Community Reviews
This refurbished Galaxy S22+ is a capable older Android phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, solid everyday performance, and enough battery for nearly a full day in some cases. The comments also point to decent long term reliability, with some units still working well after years of use. The main concerns are battery wear, overheating, and occasional network or reboot issues, plus the phone is nearing the end of Samsung security support in February 2027. Cosmetic scuffs on the body have also shown up on refurb units, so it feels best suited to buyers who can live with age and tradeoffs.

It's the LG boot loops all over again
I'm still using my S20 FE 5G UW with 512GB Samsung Micro-SD to store all my important stuff, not trusting a cloud backup that reads all my personal files. I have a Samsung USB-c flash drive to backup all of it too, just in-case...
Battery still going strong, I only charge to 85% anyway.
The 2nd reason is that I saw the RAM and storage prices getting up there in price. I saw a good deal with the S25 FE with my Best Buy gift card a few months ago, and I thought it was time to do it too.
I might do something that I normally do not do. I might get the S26 FE if it comes out with 256GB of storage as the base model, unless Samsung does something different.
I just upgraded from the S22 Ultra about a month ago for this reason. Sure, they MIGHT push a few more security updates after their stated support has ended but it will be minimal, if at all and cannot be counted on. You can flash other software but 99/100 normal users don't want to go through that trouble.
