I think iphone fold will be $2500
iPhone fold might be $1999. samsung already knows what they will charge since they are the ones that produce so many of the iPhone screens... plus they position themselves right within reach.

bro you think apple will give you 1900 off especially on a new category product for them? i wish i can dream this optimistically haha
Why would Apple need to give anyone much of any discounts? to sell something that sells out almost every time? I buy both samsung and iPhone and enjoy the samsung discount but there is a huge difference... samsung has to convince you to buy and give you perks... apple has automatic desire people will get the new one no matter what. Android sells smartphones... Apple sells a fashion piece... that happens to do smartphones stuff. apple is a culture. I love using Android phones don't get me wrong... but they are different mindsets involved. apple does not need to give you much and still sells out. take it this way.... when a fat chick gets plastic surgery or lipo... she first takes a photo with an android... after the operation and she looks better she makes the conscious choice to take it with an iPhone cause she has upgraded herself in her mind... go look you will see that's just how it works Smilie

My google pixel 8 qualified for $1k trade in. I desperately need a reconfiguration. I'm on an outdated plan, paying around $240/month for 2 lines and a 300mb fiber connection. One line going to my elderly mother who barely uses the phone a few times a wk.

Perfect timing for me. Thanks OP.

I've had my Fold 7 for about a year, I'm pretty satisfied. I mostly use the outer screen. Yes, it's narrower than a standard phone, but not by much. It's definitely useable. I use the full inner screen when I want to watch vids in a larger size or needs more space to read various things (docs, pdfs, multitasking). There is a slight crease, but honestly not a big deal. All-in-all a decent device. I'm interested in the wider Fold 8 but I don't want to lose my existing credits on the Fold 7.

Mulling adding another device, but I don't want to do that since it's another line i don't really need. But if you're in the market, I think the Fold 8 would be good as long as you're ok with some of the limitations and drawbacks.

I have been using only fold since fold 3 and I recently switched to the IPhone pro max 16 because you realize you don't use inner screen that much. I used may be 90% outer screen and 10% inner screen on my one plus open, which was awesome device but broke down within 2 years. Several of my folding phones broke down within two years (galaxy fold 4 and One plus open). I wonder how far they got with durability issue.Fold 4 was suffering from wide-spread hinge problem and they refuse to fix it. So I said I will never get Samsung phone and moved on to Apple and combined with MacBook M4 which was best laptop I have ever experienced, I have become Apple fan.

I used to buy only Samsung but their refused to fix widespread hinge issue and I said I will never get Samsung products ever again.

I haven't had any issues so far with the hinge and inner screen but like I said, I mostly use the outer screen. The fact the outer screen is "good enough" was why I bought it (tried out earlier versions but didn't like the outer screen use). The ability to unfold for bigger screen is like a plus for me.

So for my uses, I'm satisfied. For others, it may not work for you.

Having seen how bad the creases look after a year on some friends foldable phones, I'm surprised anyone still buy these. All my friends with them regret the purchase.
I've had the Fold 7 for almost a year and still hardly notice the crease. 🤷

I'd be hesitant to lock into a plan for 3 years to get a phone that is very unlikely to survive 3 years. But it does look like the plan options are much more reasonable than tmobile. Tmo plan to get this phone free is 100/month + tax.
With t-mobile it is only 24 months and you can trade it in after 1 year if you want. You can also do multiple promos per line as long as they are different.
