I own this and it is solid buy at this price. Just make sure you have a you have a 100' or two 50' 12 gauge extension cords to run it. If you don't have those, you can by a pair of 50' 12 gauge extension cords at Costco for $60 and then link them together so they don't pull apart. I bought a pair of waterproof extension cord connection sleeves that work great. I paid about $10 on Amazon for them.

This model has a plastic blade, so not the best if you are planning to use the mulching feature a lot. Hard pieces (small branches) will wear a plastic blade quicker than metal.
It's not on sale at the moment, but during the last Prime day I picked up the model with a metal blade for $79.00 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FREQ...tle_1&th=1

We have to bag our leaves for pickup and these really help fit a lot more leaves into less bags. It does take a while though. I rake into piles then vacuum them all up. The vacuum needs to be slowly fed or it will clog so it's still pretty annoying and loud and boring. It's not like running your Dyson over the carpet.

I just bought this at Lowe's and I agree with your complaints. I wouldn't use this for a large yard.
