This clamp-on desk power strip is aimed at tidy under-desk setups, with five outlets, six USB ports, and a night light that can keep cables and devices off the desktop. The mounting idea works well for standing desks because the strip moves with the desk, and the switch can be handy for controlling monitors or external drives. The main concerns are durability and safety, with reports of units dying in about 30 days, questions about USB charging design, and worries about added electronics in a compact housing. It is also described as UL listed, but the outlet and plug-slot layout may be awkward for stiff cords.

Common Questions (4)

  • Several comments report it dying at around 30 days, often starting with the lights or USB ports. That makes it a risky buy if you need something long-term, especially because failures can happen after the return window.

  • Yes, it is UL listed. That matters because the listing indicates it has been tested to a recognized safety standard, which is especially relevant for a desk-mounted strip with USB charging and a nightlight.

  • Yes, it can be used as an under-desk or back-edge mount so the strip moves with the desk or stays hidden behind it. That setup can keep monitors, lamps, drives, and other cables out of sight while still letting the switch control them.

  • The USB-A port is limited to 5V 2.1A, or about 10W. The USB-C and USB-A ports appear to share one charging circuit, so the USB-C side is not a higher-powered controller design.

Seems convenient, as long as it's not setting you on fire

I hate these things but only because I would like to get some but they always seem to have exaggerated prices for what equates to a basic power strip with two clamps attached. I really don't understand why these don't drop lower in price. Before paying ~$20, I would rather take a simple c clamp like https://a.co/d/01Y7hvAu, some 3M indoor/outdoor tape, and a surge protector I've got laying around already.

this would be awesome if the power outlets were on the back and the USB ports were on the front.

I could put it on the back edge of my desk and use the power switch to turn on/off some external drives and monitors, and the cables would go over the back of the desk and not very visible from the front.

position for plug-slots doesn't seems correct for connecting stiff wires... they should be reversed.
