Its mostly in the sub. I still have 2 sets of the Z680's from early 2000's that still knock frames off the wall. The sub is beastly for how small it is. Now I dont know how their current stuff is, but the 680s were beastly for a PC setup.

The sub on this is a monster, and the newer versions add an optical in as well. The only real issue is the power button fails over time and makes a scratching noise. I ended up opening the housing and removing the volume and power controls entirely and covering the openings with tape. Left it ON and with the volume set to about 70%.

I had these back in the early 2010's and yeah, the power button was what failed on mine. I had to tape it down I believe and just leave them on at all times.

looks like this one doesn't have optical - only aux and rca.

we have these a decade, they're great, but we found the toslink works with some tv's but not others. it was great with our old tv with multiple sound input devices running thru it, but when we replaced it with a 2025 model, there was so much loud feedback it was useless and we had to go back to using analog aux. yes, we tried various cables and tv firmware updates, but no joy, so if you plan to use this with fiber, make sure you test it from tv smart, and via it's signal i/o's such as coax antenna, cabletv, hdmi in from streaming box, etc. i suspect as there is no firmware to update on these things, some timing or encryption standards may have changed while the z623 may have not changed with them.

I wish they would make 5.1 speakers again. I have had my Logitech for years but I can see them failing in the near future.

Amen, I still have some Logitech Z-2300's from the same time which really....really annoyed my neighbors back then.

Had a set of these for $150 from 2010-2022. Absolutely amazing, loud enough to blast music for dorm parties. Only got rid of them bc I spilled beer onto the control speaker
