I have the knox case. It's really nice. The hardware is yellow/gold colored rather than silver colored on the gator but I agree it otherwise looks identical.

Is it actually plywood internally? Or particle/cardboard? Many of the cheaper cases use the latter

I have this case. It fits my PRS 24-08 well enough. But it's pretty cheap. After a year of gigging with it, the latches don't align well, and one of the metal bumpers on the bottom came off. My Strat case from 1985 which I've probably done a thousand gigs with is in better shape.

For 60 bucks, it's okay. But I'm already looking for something better. For someone who doesn't gig a lot, this is probably better than a padded gig bag and good enough to protect your guitar.
