This Anker refurb Prime Docking Station is a strong low-cost pick for multi-monitor desk setups, especially when the coupon drops it to around $32. It supports two external displays, ethernet, power, and USB accessories, and the built-in screen shows real-time power usage. The main tradeoffs are DisplayLink driver dependence, possible lag, and limited support concerns for streaming services and cross-platform use. The coupon appears limited to two uses per account, and firmware update support is unclear, making it a practical dock with a few compatibility caveats.
Common Questions (4)
Yes. The dock appears to rely on DisplayLink drivers and screen mirroring, with support shown for Windows and Mac. That matters because compatibility beyond those platforms may be limited, so it is worth checking driver support before buying.
It reportedly lacks HDCP support, so streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime can show a black screen on connected monitors. If protected video playback matters, this dock may not be a good fit.
Yes. It can run two external monitors along with Ethernet, power, and USB accessories from a MacBook Pro, and the built-in display shows real-time power usage.
Yes, the coupon appears to be limited to two uses per account. Even without it, the dock is still described as a strong price at this deal level.

Unfortunately it seems difficult to make a reliable dock that lives up to the specs on the box.
I try to stick to docks by companies like Dell and HP.
$30 and hundreds available as refurbs was not confidence inspiring.
