The Logitech G29 bundle is a solid entry wheel for sim racing, especially if you want the included shifter and a lower price than refurbished alternatives. The wheel and pedals get praise for making clutch and gear shifting feel more satisfying than paddle shifters, and the coupon can work once checkout is set up correctly. The main cautions are that the open box condition may mean used gear, the shifter may be missing from some similar kits, and the wheel can be awkward without a sturdy mount because the base spins and the pedals slide. Game feel also varies a lot, with strong results in Assetto Corsa and poor results in Forza Horizon 4.

FYI the EBay refurb doesn't appear to include the shifter.

Super lame. Paddle shifters are for people that cant drive a manual but still want to seem cool. There is nothing like the feel of a clutch/gear shift interacting.
Modern sports cars are all going DCTs and paddles. I don't think GM even makes a manual anymore.

i never had one like this. can this be used without a desk or special stand? like if i play sitting on a couch, can i just hold it between the legs, or on top of the legs? I just bought GT7 for ps5, does it work good with this game? any lags? thank you
not a chance. the base will spin in a heartbeat. you *might* be able to build some sort of lap desk, but unlikely. also, the pedals will slide out without being attached, they take a moderate amount of force to push.

Ended up getting one of the ebay deals mentioned in this thread, here's my quick review. Finally got around to playing Forza Horizon 4 from my back log, figured this would make it more fun. It's horrible. I cannot even drive straight, tried more setting than I cared for. Absoulute garbage.

I found Assetto Corsa for about $4 and tried it out. The game itself is not as fun as Forza (not saying it's bad just that I prefer arcade vs sim racers), but the driving experience was way better. I have no idea why this wheel is so garbage on Forza and so great on Assetto.
