For anyone wondering, I have this unit and it was invaluable in locating vacuum leaks. The only thing missing from this unit is an on/off switch which I could easily splice in.

You'll never use it until you absolutely need it. I only bought one when I had a specific problem to troubleshoot (multiple vacuum leaks on an Audi).

is it worth $10 more to get the gas cap adapter and cone adapter for intakes, etc?

Probably. I bought that combo just to have the adapter but its probably something you could make from a shop vac attachment and duct tape? I didnt post that one because it didn't have as much of a discount.

seems like a decent discount from what I could tell that cone adapter is $15 by itself

I think so. I bought that version for $53.xx via Amazon Business in March. I could have done without the gas tank piece, but I think the cone is essential.

Wow I think I paid $100 for one requiring external compressor. As was said before, you won't use it until you need it but when you do it's invaluable.

Have this one. Found multiple leaks in multiple places. For the price the build quality is excellent and it does what it's supposed to do! Iirc it's also made in the US

that unit will probably serve you just fine. I chose this unit as it was very compact, was US made, comes with a 3-year warranty no questions asked. I was very impressed by the packaging and the service from the company including a handwritten note thanking me for my purchase.
