This Lenovo Duet Chromebook stands out as a compact laptop lite for travel, basic web use, office work, streaming, and remote access. The keyboard and kickstand case get strong praise, and the 11 inch touchscreen, USB C charging, and premium feel make it easy to carry and use. Battery life and general speed are described as fine for light tasks, with Linux app support adding flexibility. The main drawback is the 4 gigabytes of RAM, which can feel sluggish with heavier multitasking and makes it a poor fit for demanding apps or gaming.
Travelers wanting a compact laptop-lite device, because it is smaller and lighter than a full laptop while still handling typing, web browsing, and office work.
It can feel sluggish under normal to moderate workloads, and 4GB RAM means you need to keep tabs and apps under control. It is fine for lighter use, but it is not a good choice if you want heavy multitasking or serious computing.
Open-box units vary a lot: some arrived with the original box and a Lenovo 30W charger, while others came with no box, no charger, and missing accessories. A pen is not reliably included, and several buyers specifically reported receiving no pen.
Yes. It is compact, lightweight, and works well for travel-focused "laptop-lite" use such as web browsing, Google Docs, PDFs, work portals, and light office tasks. The keyboard/case combo is also praised for being ready instantly and easier to carry than a full laptop or tablet-plus-folio setup.
It can run productivity apps like Word, Excel, and Adobe-style apps, and some Play Store games install successfully. It is still a low-power Chromebook, so heavier gaming and demanding apps are limited.
Yes. The keyboard is repeatedly described as very good or top-notch, and the included kickstand case works well. The keyboard is also always ready to use and does not need charging, which makes it feel more laptop-like.
Thats a stupid price, buy now, think later. I recently purchased a Samsung A11+ and a folio keyboard case. Wonder which one I'll end up keeping. The Samsung is more powerful, but it is amazing the number of apps I can't get installed with it (even trying to side load legit copies) since it is running Samsung's version of Android. Even Amazon shopping.
FWIW, BB is currently letting you ship to home. Local stock shows near me as well (central NC) but that always seems to be a crap shoot.
P.S. Thanks OP for posting!
Edit: WTH is with all the downvotes?!? What did I say to offend the masses?!? LOL....whatever
Update, got the Chromebook, arrived like new, so far so good. Feels pretty comparable to my A11+ for general use. Much more compact vs the A11+ with keyboard folio added so is much more compact for travel (my use case) I'm sure plenty weaker for gaming, apps, etc but for me that doesn't matter.

What apps are you having trouble installing? I've never had issues loading apps on any of my Samsung phones or tablets.

"Samsung's version of Android" (maybe you mean OneUI?) is just Android with their own software on top. It's not something that should prohibit app installation.
You're might be referring to hardware limitations or might be installing apps for mismatched hardware specs.

Correct. Either Actually. More than a few apps refuse to install even if I try to side load them, Google play store blocks the install at the last moment (even if it wasn't involved). I can only assume this is a newer version of Android behavior or perhaps Samsung shoehorned into their version. I'm sure I could download apks from sketchy sites but I do not tend to do that on devices I do banking and other important stuff with.

More than a few apps refuse to install even if I try to side load them, claim wrong version of Android (or complain it is a tablet) even if we all know they'll work fine. I'm sure I could download apks from sketchy sites but I do not tend to do that on devices I do banking and other important stuff with. Especially apps that handle my personally data / credit card details directly, for example Amazon.
Apps I've had this issue with:
Amazon Shopping
Multiple paid games (like many of those from a few weeks ago that were 10 cents)
Samsung's own password manager that shipped on my S25
And yes, I meant their customized distro of Android. Samsung isn't has heavy handed as say the Fire Tablet's OS is but theirs is much more locked down, or their tentacles in everything, vs some other almost vanilla Android installs you'd find on a different brand of phone / tablet / retro handheld.

I think when you first setup Samsung device you have to unchek blocked unknow source app. Probably you missed it .
Mine still says pending, perhaps try ordering again? I'd assume they likely send your order to a random BB showing stock to ship their unit out, the store couldn't find theirs so cancelled the order.
*I don't know for certain that is how it works at BB, but other retailers do that since open box items are not generally stocked at a central location. In a perfect world they would just move your order to another store showing inventory but we all know Best Buy's customer service is far from perfect.
4gb of RAM is painfull on a phone or tablet if doing much more than watching Youtube. Be ready to have 1app at a time usage. If you have plenty of patience, it may be doable.

Someone help me understand why this 11 inch open-box Chromebook is a good deal.
IMO it's only good if you have a specific use-case for it: like a task that it is a dedicated tool for.
This is definitely not a laptop replacement by any means, nor is it something that would be helpful for tasks that require any serious computing power.
It would probably be effective as a lightweight media machine or a server or some kind. Most mid-range phones from 2-3 years ago are just as powerful.

The keyboard and kickstand case support a laptop-lite workflow for remote access and basic web browsing.
The open-box unit can include a Lenovo 30W USB-C charger and show very low battery cycle counts.
The Chromebook can arrive in like-new condition and feel comparable to an older Samsung phone for general use.
The device can run productivity apps and some Play Store games in a more PC-like way than expected.
The 4GB RAM configuration can make the Chromebook feel sluggish under normal to moderate workloads.
The open-box FAIR condition can include missing accessories such as a charger, cables, paper, or even the original box.
The open-box unit may not include a stylus even when a pen spot appears on the back.
The Chromebook can be limited for serious computing and may not replace a laptop for demanding tasks.

FWIW, I've probably setup 4-6 Android retro handhelds (top to bottom) this year. I'm fairly comfortable in Android.
