I believe the sync module requires a subscription to actually work. The combo is only $4 more, if you're interested.

The one in the link have sync module CORE, not XR, CORE didn't have SD slot to save video locally.

You need a camera and a sync module then you can just put a USB in the sync module and store locally and not use their subscription but they take away random features with that like snapshots and some other random stuff.
