The Galaxy S25 Edge is a thin, light Samsung flagship that stands out for its large 6.7 inch screen, strong Snapdragon performance, and comfortable in hand feel. The main camera, dual speakers, and fast charging get praise, and battery life is described as better than expected for the size, though still tied to the thin design. The tradeoffs are the smaller battery, no telephoto lens, heavy Samsung bloatware, and only 256GB with no microSD slot. It feels like a premium pick for people who want a big screen without the bulk.

  • People who want a thin flagship for reading or watching movies in bed, because it feels light in hand and still has a large screen.

  • People who prioritize an unlocked phone with no carrier lock-in, because it works without switching carriers or waiting for unlock timelines.

  • People who want a lighter large-screen Samsung for everyday carry, because it is much lighter than Ultra-class phones and easier to pocket.

  • People who care more about the main camera and stereo audio than telephoto zoom, because the main camera is strong and the speakers are dual.

  • People who need all-day battery without midday charging, because the thin design leaves less room for battery capacity.

  • People who want a clean, minimal Android interface, because the phone comes with heavy preloaded bloatware and duplicate Samsung and Google apps.

  • People who rely on telephoto zoom for frequent photography, because this model lacks a zoom lens.

  • People who need expandable storage or lots of built-in space, because it only has 256GB and no microSD slot.

I love this phone, has been my daily driver for months now. That said, if you're willing to look at eBay open box/refurbished it can now be had well under $500. In fact I got my 512gb for 479 new open box from a power seller back in January and the phone looked and performed brand new. Still a good-ish deal, but so that everyone interested is aware.

This is not a good deal. It's an okay deal at best. It's mostly only an okay deal because currently at this very moment you can get better deals elsewhere. Will the devices be unlocked though? No. Mint Mobile has both Pixel 10 and S26 at amazing bundle prices. Specifically the Pixel 10. It's extremely reasonable. If the P10 isn't premium enough for you, the S26 combo deal is $580 which after taxes and fees it's $641 for me. This deal after taxes is $627.The difference being you get 1 year Mint unlimited phone plan at that $641 price.https://www.gsmarena.com/compare....one3=13979
As a diehard Pixel user since the 3 series, Google phones are not "premium" tier phones IMO. Samsung phones are better quality and have better performance. I purchase Pixels for a clean OS and the camera, but I know that they are not going to be better than Galaxy flagships for most use cases. The gap in performance between Qualcomm's best CPU and the Tensor chips is widening to the point where I can no longer justify recommending Pixels to anyone unless they're on a tight budget (always huge discounts on Pixels, for a reason).

Anyone know the difference between the edge model compared to the plus model?

Does the edge use a snapdragon chip?
Use this website. I've been using it for 20 years.

And as you said, those devices aren't unlocked and require you to switch carriers, which isn't a fair comparison. This is a great deal for an unlocked device with no restrictions. Not everyone is looking to switch carriers.
Doesn't mint unlock in 2 months? I did this for my s25 and after 2 months I just put the SIM in an extra phone that I use sometimes and then switch the s25 to my main plan

Batshit awesome? Force people? Really now.

Yes informing others that by spending a whole $14 more they could get unlimited data plan for an entire year AND a newer Samsung device. God what a monster I am.

With dual SIMs people can have two entirely different networks running so when they're somewhere with bad service on say ATT? The Tmo network can be used instead.
A lower end newer phone. And some people want a phone today not cradle around a mint connection for 2-3 months before getting to unlock.

I considered the s25 edge, but the s26+ has a bigger battery, faster charging, more case options, newer. My US mobile plan is ending soon so the mint plan just works out for me. gonna expense it anyway 😂

is this a good deal?
To many, no. To me, this is quite decent. I got kinda spoiled and wanted to see this around $500 by now; it was found around $600 brand new or new open box for so long. If you like thin phone and you don't hate Samsung, this is it. I currently dailying a Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and also owning a 10 Pro. But I've had this S25 Edge for a few weeks testing for my brother, and it's fantastic. Surprisingly, its battery lasts as long as my 10 Pro which has a significantly bigger battery.

A coworker of mine got it 2 weeks ago, bought refurbished for $480, and he's been loving it.

The mint deal seem to be basic S26 version. Not a plus version. Not a fair comparison. People are looking for a better device, not a mobile plan sometimes

Based on GSM Arena link AmusedPanther530 provided, S26 is thicker (7.2mm vs 5.8mm), smaller (149.6mmx71.7mm vs 158.2mmx75.6mm), smaller screen (6.3" vs 6.7"), lower resolution (1080x2340 vs 1440x3120), lower PPI (411 vs 513), and possibly camera.

The performance appears to be better:
3dMark: 7230 vs 6473
AnTuTu: 10824 vs 9391
GeekBench: 10824 vs 9391
Battery; 15:20h vs 12:06h

Not stating which one is better because everyone has different preferences.

Yeah for example, I'm looking for a 6.7" screen size within Samsung family with elite processing power. So, S26 screen size is a limiting factor and it wouldn't work no matter what Mint plan offers with 1 year mobile network. So, it's not a fair comparison by the other commenter.

Yes, it is. iPhone Air is $840 and this is considerably cheaper.
Agree. This is better value than iPhone Air. Even comparing the phones $1K retail price (but no one should be paying $1K for either of these phones).Dual camera, Dual speakers (you don't get the weird mono speaker when watching video horizontally), physical sim and vapor chamber, Samsung kept the same flagship snapdragon chip. Samsung went all in unlike Apple intentionally reserving few things for Air 2. Yet people gobbling up the iPhone Air at $850 in the other thread including the open box ones. But here, they're calling this as a "not good deal" for 50% off. This phone doesn't deserve the hate or bad press it gets specially not at this price. I don't understand the mentality of giving pass to Apple on everything. I've used this phone for a while, got open box from Best Buy. I really liked it, the only downside was the battery (but not as bad as everyone says).

In the USA, does it matter which networks the phone was built for or is that all done with now?
I remember T-mobile had a few bands that helped to have, but some phones didn't have..

Edge is higher flagship but it is thinner, so less room for battery and camera pieces
I'd say they're similar in terms of flagship status, each serves its own niche. Plus gives the bigger battery and better telephoto while the edge is thinner and lighter. If I'm charging nightly and not taking a lot of photos I'm going with the edge, given an equal price
