6 months of their $60 Supreme Unlimited plan is $360 then, plus the $9.99, so $370 before any taxes and you need to wait 6 months?

I hate when people spread misinformation on here. Since July 1 it's a whole year of service to get the phone unlocked, and they don't allow you to downgrade the service on phone deals.

Sometimes they don't allow you to downgrade depending on the deal, but I was able to drop to the Sensible plan the first day of service when I signed up six months ago.

Don't get this phone. I have it and it's probably the worst iPhone I've ever had the unfortunate experience to use. I usually use a phone for at least a year before changing but I barely lasted 3 months with this phone.

The camera sucks, it lacks MagSafe and Bluetooth is the worst. I use Apple CarPlay in my car and if I get a phone call while listening to music, after the call hangs up the music skips like crazy. The only way to get rid of that effect was to disconnect BT and reconnect. If I happen to drive near a police radio, the music cuts out completely. This has never happened on any phones but this one. There are plenty of examples that other people with the same phone have similar issues to mine. Honestly, if it wasn't because of the battery being worse I'd rather use a 2022 iPhone SE than this 16e.

Some people just trade in their iPhone to Apple, and they get a $310 Apple gift card.

As others have stated, this is incorrect info. Also I believe "unlocked" phones from places such as Best Buy come "flex-locked" and you'll need to meet that carrier's terms before the phone unlocks.

Better option would be to have two numbers ready to port in (I used MobileX), go into a Cricket Store and haggle to get a couple of 16e phones with 1 month of service on each. A few months ago people were getting incredible deals, I was able to get two phones for about $350 all in. Then I went to Apple and traded both in for $620 worth of gift cards to buy an unlocked 17e. Double the storage, better features, true unlocked phone, and beats this deal but requires some work. It's YMMV because of what the cricket store will quote you but I encourage people to push for a discount. Also there was the whole thing with some iPhones not passing diagnostic testing for Apple, not sure what the solution was but I can confirm I successfully did this earlier this week!

This phones fine for basic stuff like browsing the web and taking calls but I wouldn't recommend it as a primary phone. Pretty snappy and feels good in the hand.
