The last two selections, the ones with vocals, sound awful to me. The vocals specifically sound bad. It is not a scientific test and not a direct, real-life experience. But makes me wonder.
Thanks OP, ordered a pair of the NX5s and the center speaker. The NX5s are a steal for $520. I've had Mission speakers a bunch of times and they've always impressed.
The LX-2 Mk II at $130 for the pair is exceptional. Grabbed them about 2 months ago for ~$80 more than the current price. It's a fun and energetic speaker.
Good information from everyone in the comments. I figured something was up, they have the "look" of pretty high end speakers but the price is so low, if they put too much money or attention in the cabinets then something has to give to hit that price, plus the huge markdown is a sign of price manipulation. Your best value sub 200 dollar speakers are going to look like boring square boxes because the manufacturing cost went into the drivers.

Mission is a top of the line British speaker manufacturer. They're amongst the most popular audiophile brands in the UK. I've no idea why they aren't more well known in the US but the clearance pricing is a genuine discount. These speakers are still much closer to their retail pricing in England and over the US RRP in Asia.

It is not price manipulation it is a fire sale. These sold poorly and they want them gone.
These came out in 2019.
Many good deals occur when this happens.
They are very well built for even the full retail price.
The issue is they just did not sell well.
Mission is a respected part of IAG, Wharfedale, Quad, Mission, and Audiolab + more.
The designer of record on these is world famous.
They just did not sell or fully impress enough sonically at full retail. At these prices the deal is extremely solid.
What HiFi (a joke of a magazine) gave the ZX-2 a bad review as well (they likely did not pay enough). There is stiff competition in the upper midrange price point.
in for a set of ZX-2. No need for floor standers, but I'm really hesitant to displace my Studio 530 JBL's, but at these prices, this is hard to not at least be curious.

AUDIO gave the ZX-5 a pretty solid rating and they measure quite well.
You might have to have google translate the web page.

Got the Jamo a few years ago for about $400 so ok to upgrade if this is better with vocals in the center
Edit: do they come with covers?
Edit edit: or should I stick with RSL for the entire setup?
