I've used the fuel L shape 1 1/8 and this flexvolt definitely has more power. I havent used the 1 1/4 fuel d handle tho so I cant say on that.

would this be adequate enough to tear up like a 15 sqft 3 inch thick concrete patio or would just renting a jackhammer/concrete saw be better?

you would be there forever. you need at least a "Demolition hammer" or a breaker hammer aka jackhammer
