Google AI Pro for students is a strong value at $4.99 a month, bundling Gemini access with 5 TB of Google Drive storage and YouTube Premium Lite, with some accounts also showing Gemini Health Coach. The promo has been claimed through Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Gemini, though the claim flow can be finicky and sometimes redirects to the normal manage plans page or full price. The offer also appears to recur after a prior trial ends, and some accounts needed extra verification beyond the .edu email. It is a useful bundle if you want the storage and paid Gemini features together.
Students who can trigger the offer from Google Drive or Sheets, because the claim flow works from those Google apps when browser links fail.
People who need reliable claim flow on the first try, because the offer can redirect to manage plans or disappear and leave the discounted price unavailable.
Yes. Clicking the popup can route to the normal manage-membership page, show only the $20 plan, or say the offer is unavailable. In some cases, reopening Drive in Chrome or using the Drive app's Plus button is what finally lets the claim go through.
The offer can surface in Google Drive, Google Docs, or the Drive app instead of Sheets or Gemini. Opening Drive from your Google account, then using the banner or Plus/Claim button, has worked when browser claim links redirected to the normal plan page.
Yes, the student promo can renew for another 12 months at about $5/month after the prior trial ends. The membership screen may show a future start date and a next payment of $19.99/month, but the subscription settings can still show the $4.99 next payment.
For heavy use, the paid plan can be worth it because it adds 5TB storage and extra features, while the free Gemini account already includes the same core models for many users. For lighter use, the free tier may be enough, but the paid plan is the better fit when you need more capacity or storage.
Yes. The plan includes Gemini access, Google Drive 5TB storage, and YouTube Premium Lite, with some listings also mentioning Gemini Health Coach. That makes it a much larger bundle than Gemini access alone.
Thank you for posting. Just came across your post and my free trial ends on 6th Aug. According to another post, I logged in my Google account in Guest profile. No luck in finding the offer under Google sheet or Gemini. I opened the Google Drive and happened to see a line saying that 75% off your free trial ends Aug 6th. Then I claimed the offer. Hope this helps.
google drive on desktop worked- my trial ends AUG 4TH
I received this offer, and I believe everyone will receive it. When I signed up, the offer's expiration date was shown as February 28, 2027.
If you're interested, try to cancel it before your subscription expires. You might find it in Drive, Gemini, or any other Google app.
Just came here to say that all the browser based methods mentioned above didn't work after clicking the "claim" link - always got to my normal plan manage page with normal prices.
What worked... Opening Google Drive on my Android and hitting the Plus button (be sure to first switch to your existing Google Account already with Pro on).
Big popup in middle to claim - clicked that and sure thing it worked. $5 plan and click to pay for it.
It did not say when this would expire. Someone above says July 30th (today) but that seems odd - not the last day of the month.
Anyway, jump on this while you can. The free version was off and on and off and on several times over the last months of 2025 and Jan 2026 - I was promoting it.
To those who wonder why pay - there are some tools where that extra capacity is VERY useful, even tho the free version does take you a decent distance. If your only exposure is the free Gemini, you are missing out on a huge ecosystem of very clever tools. Is it equal to Claude and ChatGPT (I have subs to these too - and have local open weight models on my computer), not really, BUT it isn't all that far away (currently might actually be better than those others one to two versions back to give you a ballpark). And, if you are on a budget and can only pick one, you cannot beat this for what you get.
under manage membership it says Your new Google AI Pro (5 TB) plan will start on Aug 4, 2026. Your next payment is $19.99/mo. You can change your plan anytime.Your new Google AI Pro (5 TB) plan will start on Aug 4, 2026. Your next payment is $19.99 per month. You can change your plan anytime.

The Claim Offer banner show up here and there but when I click it it just takes me to the normal plan page.
Going directly to the student plan page just shows that This Offer isn't available.
Any way around this?
