I just randomly checked my Uber app today under the 'send a gift' section and I had a 10% off gift card promo active. YMMV

I forgot to note the expiration date on this but I think it said July 28.

Obv not as good as the 15% off they had going the last time, but better than nothing.

Mine shows valid until July 27th! I will definitely take advantage of this as Uber offers come up less frequently nowadays. Costco used to offer $100 Uber GCs for $80, but no more Frown(

It's not an error with the app. GC transactions are easily flagged as fraud. Try using Google Pay or Paypal to check out, or clear the error with your bank and retry.

Thanks fir suggestion, I gave up as it's 10% discount , so good deal but not great. Already tried with 2 cards, no Google pay option. Time to move on Smilie

Yeah, I has tons of cards get declined last time they ran a promo at 15%. Then when I'd try again, it would just give me an unnamed error. After that, I had trouble adding several cards to my account. But eventually that cleared up on its own, and I was able to add some more to my wallet.
Uber won't help you in any way with these problems/

I tried a different card this time, and managed to get it to work. (And, luckily, that card - Capital One Savor - also has 10% cashback on Uber!)

Uber won't help you in any way.
Uber can't help, as it's the bank blocking the transaction not Uber. Sometimes the easiest workaround is to try a card and when you get a fraud notification which asks if it was you or not, confirm it was you and then retry with that same card when the app asks if you'd like to try a different method. That will almost always work because it deactivates the fraud flag for that transaction.

This is wrong. I tried 5 different cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal. Same app error on all of them.

Please read again. You could have the error with 100 different cards because each bank may block the GC transaction initially. That's fraud prevention by the bank, not Uber blocking the transaction. What you can do is clear the error with the bank (I.e., let them know it was an intentional charge, not fraud) usually by replying to a text or using the bank's app. Once you've done that, process the transaction again using the same card and it will go through.

The fact that none of your five accounts worked on the first try is unusual, but you can still resolve it by doing what I suggested. If you really don't want a rejection, you can contract your bank in advance and pre-authorize, but that's more of a hassle.
