One big disadvantage of cheap 4k IPS is that they don't come with DP 2.1 ports, and DSC with DP 1.4 takes up 2 GPU lanes, so running more than 2 monitors at full 4k/10bit/144Hz+ is difficult/impossible unless GPU comes with more than 1 HDMI port.

This 27 inch 4K IPS Predator stands out as a low priced fast refresh monitor for gaming and everyday use, with 160Hz and a dual mode 1080p 320Hz option. The price is framed as about as cheap as 4K IPS gets, and Costco protection adds some peace of mind. Acer is also described as looking better than some ViewSonic and MSI displays. The main drawbacks are the stand, no USB C, and no DisplayPort 2.1, which can limit full 4K high refresh setups across multiple monitors. It fits best as a compact 4K screen when desk space and port needs are simple.
The monitor can deliver 4K fast refresh at a low price point for a 4K IPS gaming class.
The high refresh rate can work well for both productivity tasks and gaming use cases.
The stand design can be avoided by using a wall mount to save desk space.
A user experience suggests Acer monitors can look better than some prior ViewSonic and MSI 144Hz options.
The monitor lacks DP 2.1, and DSC over DP 1.4 can make multi-monitor full 4K 10-bit high refresh setups difficult.
The monitor does not include USB-C connectivity.
The 27-inch 4K resolution can be a poor fit for image quality, with 32-inch suggested as the minimum for 4K.
The stand design may be undesirable, with some users comparing it to bird feet.

on your last point sure maybe they won't need two 4k monitors as one main strong monitor and second one will be fine as whatever.
My next monitor will definitely be OLED. Dark blacks are a big deal for me.!
