Compared to S series, eg S21FE, how does these A series or A37 compare for international travels?I was told S series have bands for international use.

Are we sure only one month service is required to unlock after one year? This is what google said:
"According to the Metro by T-Mobile Phone Unlock Policy, 365 days must pass from the activation date, and community discussions on platforms like Reddit note that the phone must remain active and used on the network during that time rather than just sitting disconnected after one month"

I got "We couldn't verify your information so we canceled your order" at the end. My number is now stuck in the port process and have to make a bunch of phone calls to reverse the port.

The purchase screens look different from before, so maybe they also put in a new backend with some kind of verification system behind it.
No the actual port does not happen until you activate. The pin will time out but if you don't want to to risk it yeah call your carrier and cancel the port

The price looks good but the plans are expensive. The lowest I see is $40 a month making this phone cost 520 for a year of service. You can do better. I see mint is a little more for an a26 or a37.

Transferring a Mint number makes it $49 for the phone and $60/month.

It might be carrier dependent, but Tracfone deactivates the line while keeping service alive during the port. However it means that you can't just re-submit the port on the Metro side. You have to call Metro to cancel the port, then call TF to reinstate the line... so a bunch of phone calls.

Is the locking tech so good now that ebay sellers can't sell you unlock codes anymore? I think the last time I was able to do this was in 2020 or 2021 for a moto phone from boost
