HI experts, currently I have Xfinity internet ($50/month for 1 Gig) and mobile (free line for a year) on my spouse's name. Promotions for both internet and mobile are expiring at end of this month. Can I temporary port wife's number out to some provider, create new Xfinity account on my name, and then port the mobile back to my account to get another free year of mobile select? Thanks!

Create the second account first then transfer the service to the new account and schedule the cancelation with them

As my discount expired, I went to a store and talk to a real person. I was able to switch over to this deal and not lose the Platinum status. So go to a store if no luck on line

Not going to read all the comments, but I chatted with an agent and they adjusted my service for me after a little back forth. Got me down from $65/month for $50/month for a Gig for 5 years. Thank you for the deal!

Xfinity has caps on data in many states. Check that in your state before you get this. I've been burnt several times with their limit, which sits in the fine print. With online streaming being a utility now, I'm never touching xfinity ever again ... not to mention their horroble customer service and billing/accounting errors/nightmares.

Their customer service can be pretty difficult to deal with. They made a change sometime in the past months or year that new plans don't have data caps. Any old plans that had them will remain until you switch to a newer plan.

Yes. I just set up a new account following these instructions. Same name and everything, they just assigned me a new account number and sent new equipment. Got the free mobile line for 2nd year in a row too!

Pro tip on the mobile line, they claim you only have like 3 months to sign up for it but they keep sending mail and email about signing up for it way past that date so I'm pretty sure you can do it later if desired. Also, if you signup for the gig initially and redeem the peacock, then downgrade to the 300 mbps (which is plenty fast for most any purpose), they'll likely let you keep the Peacock Smilie

YMMV. Total accident but this worked for me recently likely because their website sucks. But I logged into my account in safari browser on mobile. I went to manage plan and I had the deal there. So I signed up for it. They ended up creating me a second account and send me a new box. I canceled old account and brought back old box. No name change needed.

I got the Xfinity 1 Gig Internet Service Plan $50/month as existing customer. I kept trying to push for a lower plan and cost, but they didnt budge. I previously had $45 a month plan at lower speeds. I'll try again next month to see if anything changes.

So existing customer here and I was able to get this deal. Used the chat bot and did "Internet issue" they immediately gave me a $70/month offer for 1gig (I didn't have to ask or mention anything). I asked about this promo and they said I wasn't eligible. HOWEVER, when you look at the offer they give you, clicking the link, it has TV service "NOW TV" on it for $20/month (it also had a -$60 discount, but still made it $70 total). I asked the chat rep to remove NOW TV and I was able to get the $50/month for 1gig offer (actually $60 but -$10 if you sign up for electronic billing). So it's definitely possible to get this similar deal as an existing member.

They just honored the 1 gig 60 month at $60 less $10 for autopay from checking (not credit card ) ... so it's $50 for 1 gig locked for 60 months with free peacock and 12 months of cell which I didn't want .
