I'm not sure about this brand, but these magnetic connectors are really great. I wouldn't go back to just clamps. Make sure you get the right type for your setup. My state doesn't allow the cheaper crinkly type of dryer vent which these tend to come with pre attached and built in/not removable. You can get ones that don't have any vent attached to them, so you can attach your own. I think some of the magnets are better for angles and some straight on. The magnets are very strong but won't align correctly if it's not the right kind for your setup.

I'm not a professional which is why I don't know any technical terms or anything. This is just my experience installing it myself.

Why does it need to be magnetic? The dryer never moves so once you connect it you should be good for years.

Well yeah, if you don't seal and clean your lint filter properly. This magnetic pipe is not a workaround for you failing to correctly manage your dryer lint.

Where do you live? North Korea? Why would your state get involved in your dryer vent?

WOw. I paid a lot more for the "made in teh USA" versions of these years ago. They were/ are a PITA to install....depending on their application.The foil ducting is lousy and I prefer the more heavy duty stuff.

It's a fire-code issue. I'm not sure whether that particular requirement is set at the state or local level, but foil-style dryer ducts can trap lint and are more easily crushed or damaged, increasing the risk of fire. That seems like a perfectly reasonable safety regulation to me. Everyone benefits from fewer house fires.

4" galvanized steel ductwork.

Technically, you can use 4" aluminum duct, but it has to be smooth walled as to not collect lint.

Use 4" band clamps, or metal seam tape. Duct tape will get flagged because it's flammable. Screws that protrude into the ductwork will be flagged because they collect lint.

10% of all house fires are from dryer venting, so inspectors will always be strict about it.
