These are really easy to convert to USB-C. You can buy the board as a drop in replacement. You just need to file the hole to make it fit.

These are the ones I used [amazon.com] on a thrift store find and they work and fit great.

One can fit USB-C socket on it with some effort but it does require drilling out larger opening for port to fit. After few I can now do it within few minutes using dremel and proper tip. Good part is that the port is separate from the main board so it can be disconnected just by pulling one cable out.

So I bought an AceGamer PS4 controller on Amazon and it's awesome in terms of quality and usability. Solid controller, highly recommend. However, the R1 and L1 buttons do leave your fingers a bit sore if you play for hours each night (not their fault), so now I have to settle for buying the original controller which has soft touch L1 and R1 buttons you don't feel as much after a lot of play. I think this is a good deal, thanks OP.
