I have one for one of my tv setups. It's very good for a cheap soundbar. Probably the best soundbar you can get under $300 brand new.

I bought this one recently but have not opened it. I did quite a bit of research and I agree that for this price point it is unbeatable. However, I am probably going to return mine and step up to the Samsung q990, which can be found using the AAA discount with Samsung for $800. A significant step up in price but also based on my research, in performance. One gripe that some people have with the Hisense is dialogue volume - being able to hear the voices without having to crank up the volume so sound effects are overbearing. However I did read a review or two or somebody thought it worked well. Maybe someone that has this specific soundbar can comment.

I bought one full price for my bedroom thinking it would be fine and ended up repacking it and returning it. The bass was very lackluster and when you controlled the volume through the TV it would sometimes lag behind the button press and sound would go up too high or too low. you'd have to wait for it to catch up. Like the soundbar earc wasn't communicating fast enough or something. I bought the q990 off Amazon instead. Way higher price point but worth the sound quality.

I had issues with this where it would randomly disconnect and reconnect/reboot the satellite and sub connection so it would mute for a second or two. It was frequent and annoying enough that we returned it.

Are you aware they buy all the equipment and they test using accepted testing methodology and equipment that is used by calibrators and other professionals?

The only complaint I have heard is the paywall they just put up.

It is true they have affiliate links to purchase so that could be a point of contention about bias.

I am quite aware. I find them to be biased beyond my level of comfort. By all means if you find them reliable then enjoy, they are quite extensive and they certainly give you their best effort. It's just not something I value.

This seems like a pretty sweet deal for a decent budget surround soundbar setup. For under $200, this is great for improving crappy built in speakers.

I currently use a stereo pair of homepod minis I picked up off ebay. The sounds is significantly better than my Hisense u7 tv speakers, and gets wide stereo separation than a soundbar. You can get a a couple preowned homepod minis for under $70 off ebay currently. For me, this is good enough.

But if your don't already have homepods, or want a subwoofer and/or surround sound on a budget, I think the op deal will be hard to pass up.
