My brother picked up this system a few days ago before this sale. I recommended the AX700 to him, due to my positive experience with the older AX5125H model that I'm currently using . He's really happy with it and was able to get a price adjustment from Costco. Couldn't pass this up for the price, so I picked up one up. I'll update once I get it up and running. I'll be testing it with BR remux files that include the better audio codecs with my Shield Pro that supports lossless audio, and comparing it to the AX5125H.

I held up buying this model because an HDMI input was an absolute requirement for me, and couldn't find a review to confirm that it has one. I unboxed it, and I can confirm that it does have an HDMI input port.

Have a q60cc 3.1.2 wondering if this is a good upgrade. Rtings is paid now so if anyone can share how this performs mainly with TV shows would appreciate it.

Worth the upgrade from a 10-year old 2.1 soundbar setup? I don't need the best of the best like the Samsung Q990. Mainly looking for better dialogue separation.

guys. i left a comment on the Side by side comparison page on Rtings. please like it or comment on it, so Rtings can get their 💩together and return to unbiased reviews: https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/t...7391/80854
I hate to say it, but this sounds like "buyer's justification" to me.

Obviously, a $2,800 Sonos set wouldn't even be comparable to a $180 Costco one... I think the point is the value for $180 is pretty hard to beat.

Why the "Math Isn't Mathing"
  1. RTings Standardizes Scores Relative to Feature Sets RTings grades soundbars on specific technical criteria like frequency response consistency, maximum loudness without distortion, center-channel clarity, and feature support. If a $170 soundbar tracks its target frequency response curve well and doesn't distort at normal living room volumes, RTings gives it high marks for sound profile. That doesn't mean it sounds identical to an ultra-premium system; it means it performs exceptionally well against soundbar benchmarks.
  2. Laws of Physics (Driver Size & Cabinet Volume) The Sonos Arc Ultra + Sub 4 setup costs $2,800 for a reason. The Arc Ultra uses custom Sound Motion transducers, superior digital signal processing (DSP), and vastly larger driver surface area. The Sub 4 digs down to sub-audible 20Hz frequencies that physically rattle the floor without chattering. The Hisense AX700's compact sub will hit a low-frequency wall around 45–50Hz. The Sonos will sound dramatically fuller, cleaner at high volumes, and vastly superior for music.
  3. Room Calibration & Ecosystem The Sonos system uses Trueplay tuning via smartphone mics to map every reflection in your specific room, tweaking time-alignment down to the millisecond. The Hisense uses standard, fixed audio profiles.

I find them to be suspicious, I believe they are biased and are incentivized to lean more favorably towards manufactures and products the benefit them financially or otherwise.
No way. They are one of the most legit review sites around. The fact that they have had to institute a pay wall recently underscores how independent they are. If they were getting payed to juice reviews by manufacturers, they would keep access free to get more eyes on your theorized sponsored biased reviews. Every purchase I've made based on rtings has turned out in line with my expectations from the review.

Guys I have a 77" LG G5 and looking for a good soundbar to use with it. Doesn't have to be the best. Is this one good compared to the Samsung Q60CC and/or the JBL 800MK with battery powered wireless speakers?

More than likely I won't use the rear surrounds, since I can't fit them in my studio situation, but I'm looking for the best audio I can get on a budget.

I had issues with this where it would randomly disconnect and reconnect/reboot the satellite and sub connection so it would mute for a second or two. It was frequent and annoying enough that we returned it.
Had heard this as well, went with the Klipsch

I really wanted this soundbar to work, I purchased one set it up. And i was honestly impressed with the sound for the price. But after using it for about 3 weeks I grew too frustrated with it as i spent way to much time fighting with it to get it to stay connected to my TV. It was cutting out constantly. The TV i have is also HiSense and under 1 year old. I would have thought it would be most compatible with another hisense device. I returned it and got JBL soundbar that was more expensive, and honestly doesn't sound as good but have never had it cut out.

Does anyone have experience with the hisense features of the AX5140Q? It seems like the consensus is that the AX700 makes sense unless you own a high end Hisense TV. But, I actually own a high end Hisense TV. Best Buy has the AX5140 for $350. At nearly half the price, the AX700 seems like a solid deal, but I do wonder if the Hisense features really make that much of a difference where it would be worth waiting for a better deal.

I bought this one recently but have not opened it. I did quite a bit of research and I agree that for this price point it is unbeatable. However, I am probably going to return mine and step up to the Samsung q990, which can be found using the AAA discount with Samsung for $800. A significant step up in price but also based on my research, in performance. One gripe that some people have with the Hisense is dialogue volume - being able to hear the voices without having to crank up the volume so sound effects are overbearing. However I did read a review or two or somebody thought it worked well. Maybe someone that has this specific soundbar can comment.

This review from Rtings is for the very similar Hisense AX5140Q.
