Thanks! Bought this a couple of weeks ago from Costo, need to see if they'll do a price adjustment.

Monitor is sharp as expected. Adobe colorspace is in the low 90s, and the Dell 4K that it replaced was 99%, but I haven't noticed a difference. 6K is a bit weird, as image viewers and old plugins for Photoshop don't scale correctly. Inputs are a disappointment (miniDP?). I had to buy a longer miniDP cable, as the one provided is too short, and I didn't have one. Haven't tried the Thunderbolt connection either.

That is a lot of bits to move at 6K resolution especially in HDR mode. I am sure that has something to do with it.

This is a crazy good price. I just bought the PA32QCV a few months ago for $1400. If there had been a sub $1000 at the time I would have bought it.

FWIW I really like 6k 32" for coding work. I can't say its a must-have over 5k but if you are willing to spend the money its a small but meaningful upgrade for the device you spend thousands of hours a year looking at. For office work I prefer 6k/60hz over 4k/120hz.

Of course 6k/120hz would be the holy grail but there's only one monitor right now that does that and it just came out.

Photography. For daily use more pixels and a lower resolution yields rounder fonts and what not. think ipad vs ipad retina (or iphone).

Two types of people in these threads.

Those who don't understand why people buy +240hz screens and those that don't understand why someone needs 5k, 6k, 8k pixels.

The first group doesn't know what an esport is and the second hasn't discovered scaling.

Might as well argue about screws vs nails.

I had one of these a year ago. Mine was darker on both the right and left side than in the center, and the center had a pinkish hue to it. It also was not very bright. I tried to get it exchanged under the Dell Advanced replacement warranty and BE WARNED...Dell will jerk you around with delay tactics, requests and more requests for photos (which really don't show the issue) and flat out not replying back. As I was just a few days from my return period expiring, finally Dell Cares department got me a return label and that thing went back so fast. Dell support sucks.

I don't think they are all bad quality displays and this is an excellent price for a 6K monitor with that webcam and audio and ports, but maybe that is why these are down to $800 now, because of so many issues.

Also, Costco shows the list price of $999.99. This monitor was $3000 last year. I bought mine at around $2300 but Dell raised the price to almost $3000.

Do you know what the warranty on this monitor is when buying from Costco? Some products they double the warranty or add a year. Dell's warranty is 3 years.

The U3225qe offers 140 pixels per inch. The monitor model in this deal (U3224KB) is 224 pixels per inch. That's a big enough difference for you to notice in spreadsheets, word, or gaming. 224 is "better" --

However, the U3225qe has double the refresh rate of the U3224KB. The U3225qe is 120 hz. The KB is 60 hz. If you stare at word and spreadsheets all day, 60 hz is just fine because for the most part your picture is static. If you use the monitor for gaming, 120 hz is much better. There are other differences that are less meaningful. You should first decide whether you'll be using the monitor for gaming, or productivity-related work.

I think you can add a mesh wifi node, for example, directly to the 2.5Gbe port. The access point communicates with your laptop via Thunderbolt cable. If your laptop isnt connected to a docking station that has a 2.5Gbe port, the monitor is providing that port instead.

it's still pretty unattractive, but get it onto a monitor arm & that helps a small bit.

the real idiocy is whoever ok'd that graphic --- that yellow is headache inducing
