Because brightness will be lower most likely. Because you're not making any gains in resolution? A general search of IPS vs OLED should help you find your answer

Oh for sure I understand the differences in the technology, was more trying to gauge how well received this specific panel is as there can be a wide range of quality in both Oled and IPS panels in my experience, particularly when you get in the cheaper range.

More wondering if anyone had any bad feelings about this panel, had good experiences with AOC tho.

Edit: FYI Looks like ebay seller has been criticized in the recent past for poor CS, poor packaging, damage upon arrival, concerns about warranty claims.

It's well received from what I found online. It's an originally $500 MSRP OLED monitor so that should tell you something about how much investment AOC put into it. I think it's worth a shot if youre looking for something budget friendly that will take single player games or show/movie streaming up a notch from non-OLED. Glossy finishes are preferred now over matte so this has that going for it as well.

Yeah I think I'm gonna pull the trigger, I love my OLED TV and my desktop is in a room with light levels I control, so brightness should be fine... Lets see how it turns out!

I got this last time it was on sale like this (it's almost always on sale, usually around 250). I have an LG CX so I knew how big a difference it makes. The biggest complaint I read about this and other affordable OLEDs is the brightness. I don't really understand the obsession with 1000+ nits when most of us are playing in pitch dark rooms at night.

I've been very happy with mine. It came in still sealed in plastic like new. I have it paired with an LED Samsung G7 and I now despise that stupid muddy backlight bleeding monstrosity.

you can read my review on this seller. he's clearly violating eBay's ToS. u can gamble and get a good monitor, but if u get a bad one u hve to go through the whole process of returning it. don't bother with their customer service. and do not send the monitor outside ebay's platform regardless of what they say in ebay chat. read the negative reviews on the seller before buying.

You can look up the model number on here and see how often it's posted. The seller has waves of sales that raise and lower the price. I would say it's this price or lower every 3 or 4 months. Save the listing on eBay and keep an eye out. It certainly won't go higher than $300 and it'll give you time to shop around.

I just received mine. It came loose in the box... Only half of the interior cardboard clamshell was present in the box. Only the monitor was in the box - the stand and cables were missing. It powers on and seems to work, but there are some light scratches on the screen, probably from how it was shipped. It's also VERY dim, even at 100% brightness and with uniform brightness turned off. Definitely returning this.

Got one from this seller last week. In my case it arrived packaged well with the screen protection film still on it, but YMMV. It works great, but be aware that there is a distinct fringe on text: the bottom is purple and the top green, because of the pixel layout on these QOLED screens. Not very bright but in a dark room its fine and the contrast is amazing. I am seeing details in things I haven't seen before even in SDR. Color gradients are much better, you can tell differences in similar shades next to each other. Overall its a great monitor for media and games if you have a decently dark viewing area.
