These have a laminated body, but you can get other Yamahas that have solid wood bodies around the same price. The value here is if you're really into the TransAcousric technology.

I have a ukulele with an older version of the TransAcoustic stuff. It's an interesting novelty but I personally wouldn't spend the money for that feature again.
