dont buy a series 3 core ultra if it isnt an x version with the b390 gpu IMO, they're going for the same price. The only exception is if you are certain you don't need additional GPU power and want the best battery life possible on a high performance x86 chip. But even then, the Core 7 Ultra is virtually identical for less money and will likely have a longer battery life. So all that to say, probably avoid the core 9 ultra regardless unless you absolutely need to scratch the itch of owning a product with a higher number on the label. Or if you fall into some niche category that needs a marginally faster cpu? idk, maybe if you compile alot?

16 months ago I got similar laptop for under $700 at Micro center. ASUS VivoBook S AMD AI 9 with 32 GB RAM with OLED screen. It seems prices went high almost double.

Yes, the component pricing on SSDs and RAM is pretty ridiciulous these days so the prices are higher than last year. Frankly, I'm surprised the prices of laptops isn't higher than it is.
