100%

TCL Q77 is a bottom tier TV. This is solidly mid tier. Now in terms of reliability, that is up in the air.

I bought this model recently for 900 and got 100 back after I went to the customer service desk and asked for price match. It's in a very bright room with direct sunlight and the anti-glare coupled with super brightness is incredibly impressive. The five-year warranty, plus purchasing from Costco, eases any concerns I had about going with a Hisense versus a higher-tier brand. I'm very happy with the purchase so far.

Is this worth $300 more than 2025 U6 75"? Paid $500 at costco still returnable.

I assume Costco would be the play for the 5 year warranty and cheaper delivery/installation options, but it's a fair call out since you need the membership.

I was waiting for the 85" to drop to under $1000, but for this price, I might have to bite. Going from a 65" to a 75" just doesn't seem like that much of a size upgrade, but the features - full array local dimming, anti-glare screen, 4k @ 144Hz VRR - would be significant upgrades over my current TV which is edge lit, has lots of glare and 4k @ 60Hz. The only downside to the U65 series, in my opinion, is that it uses Fire TV instead of Google TV; but if I really hate Fire TV that much, I could just get an Onn Google TV box.

what's a good top of the mid-tier or bottom of the top tier?

Wait for the 85 if you have the room and stand for it.
