These fans are much more useful than one would think. I use mine year round, with the most common use to cool hot food, especially ramen. Because of the narrow targeted airstream, it's also great for spot drying wet clothes. For example, when you spill soda on your shirt. Finally, it also works as a cordless cold hair dryer, e.g. when you're driving to work.

This is a great model because the USB charging port is on the side. Mine has the port directly behind the head. That means I can't angle the fan toward me when it's charging. That's not a problem with this model.

My favorite way to use the fan for cooling is to stick it in my belt or waistband, then aim it up at my head. Works great. Much better than putting it on a lanyard around the neck. The fan stays put as you walk, unlike wearing it on the neck, where it bounces around. This is similar to a waist fan except you can also use it normally as a hand or desk fan. Some people also like to place their shirt over the fan so that it cools the body.

My only concern with this model is that it uses a wheel to control speed instead of buttons. Wheels and dials trend to break more easily and they're impossible to waterproof.

I don't have this particular model but I suspect it will be loud based on how small the blade is.

All turbo fans are loud because of the relatively long narrow airspace. It's the same reason vacuum cleaners and jet engines are loud. The benefit is powerful targeted airflow.

Ain't gonna lie, I use it similarly but I like to blow air in my pants. As a sweaty man that has to sit in the border sometimes for longer than 1.5 to 4 hours to cross into San Diego, these type of fans have provided comfort on these recent extremely moist days. I used to get to work by 2:30am and already drenched in sweat. MyA.c. Is not always cooperative and has ain't cheap to waste it on half cold and half hot air coming out my car. So these fans really do help a ton
