This EGO Nexus Escape is a compact inverter for people already in the EGO battery ecosystem, with pure sine output and a USB C PD port that can even recharge the battery. It has proven handy for outages and off grid use, running routers, modems, laptops, phones, lamps, TVs, Rokus, pumps, and even an electric cooler for short trips. The main limitation is that the battery is not included, runtime depends entirely on the battery size, and compatibility is limited to EGO packs. At $119, it stands out as a portable backup power option if you already have EGO batteries on hand.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, it is a compact backup option for camping, day trips, and outages, especially if you already have EGO batteries charged. It is useful for lights, electronics, coolers, and other small off-grid tasks.

  • No. It is an inverter/power station that requires your own EGO 56V ARC battery, and runtime depends on the battery size you already have. It is most useful if you already own multiple EGO batteries.

  • Yes. The USB-C PD port can be used to charge the battery, and even a 30W phone charger with a phone cable can work, though slowly.

  • Runtime depends on the EGO battery size, and a 2.5Ah 56V battery was estimated at about 25 minutes at 300W. That makes battery capacity the key factor for planning CPAP or other longer runs.

  • It can handle electronics like laptops, phones, lamps, routers, modems, TVs, and Rokus, and it provides pure sine power that is safe for electronics. It will not run high-draw appliances like a coffee maker at 400W.

I have the default 2.5 amp hour 56volt battery that comes with the blower/weedtrimmer combo from Ego.

I asked AI how much runtime this unit would give me off the battery at 300 watts, and it said about 25 minutes.

I also own a Southwire Elite 300 powerstation that was about $100 on slickdeals and I asked the same question for 300 watt use, and it said 50 minutes. I already own the Southwire, so I guess I'll just keep that since they are similar power output rating, and similar price, but I like the concept and portability and multifunction use of this device in a pinch.

As i posted earlier..Yes, you CAN charge the battery with the included USB-C PD port
Anyone able to rig it to a regular (100W+) Solar Panel? I only found small solar panels with USB-C connections but was looking for a simple device to connect USB-C [PD] to my 100W panel w/ MC4 connectors (ex: via buck converter or car charger)

An empty box was delivered to me this morning. I called Lowe's 3 times and they're resending it. Uber driver must've stolen it. How dumb.

If you have an adapter from the Mc to the USB.
Or buy a solar panel that allows to charge via the USB. I have 2 like this a 60 and a 120 watt panel.
But your better off using the panels to charge a power bank and then use the power bank to charge the ego batteries.
It will depend on how many ways the ego inverter will max out at for charging. My ryobi inverter makes it at 60 watts where my power bank can charge up to 400 watts.

At 60 watts and given solar various with the light, it is going to take a real long time to charge the ego batteries. Faster with the power bank and then charge multiple ego batteries over night.

What is the manufacture date on the unit you received? Mine is May 2023. I wonder if I received a refurb.

I exchanged the old one that was sent to me (technically the 2nd time since the 1st time, the product was most likely stolen) to get a newer one with a manufacturer date of Dec. 2025. The 1st one refers to product 130013001 and the 2nd one is 130013004.

Has anyone used a USB-C connected charger to connect to the USB-C PD port to recharge the battery? I may try that out, even though I don't have a 100-W charger and cable.

Yes, and you can charge battery even with 30W phone charger and phone cable. Slow but steady lol.
