kasa switches are solid, but remember they are wifi.

Installing a handful of switches is likely ok (<10), but as you add more switches, they will start to put more and more strain on your network.

If you are planning on doing a massive install for a full house setup, I would recommend a zigbee or zwave alternative. Personally, I am a big fan of Zooz as they are middle of the road in terms of features + price (~20-30 each).

Unless you have an ancient setup just having numerous switches wont impact anything.

I set up a second WiFi network just for all of my smart home equipment. Cheap mesh setup from netgear. Works great the last 4 years

Love Kasa as they've got great quality and the company has persisted for years. Troubling when the manufacturer disappears leaving legacy, unsupported products behind. Thx!

Has anyone had success installing these in the same faceplate cover/box with another regular on/off switch?

I'd love to put this in a spot with a light switch and use this on the fan switch.

Yes. No problem at all. The switches work with "normal" faceplates in addition to the ones provided with the switch.

Neato - so I just need to get a switch + regular on/off switch faceplate. Sorry, I know I messed up that terminology.

If you currently have 2 switches, one for the fan and one for the light (2 gang box), then you should be able to switch out the fan switch assuming there's a neutral (white) wire in the gangbox. All you'd need then is to buy a 2 gang 1 toggle wall plate like this one:

Same here. Have legions of smart plugs and switches. Just make sure your router can handle as many as you want and it will be fine
