Worst grill ever. I have gone through 3 now with warranty, and all have the same temp sensor issue where one side is hotter than the other. Customer support takes months to reply

This 26 inch two burner LOCO SmartTemp flat top grill is a compact griddle that seems to hit a sweet spot between tabletop size and full backyard capacity. The hinged cooktop, solid build, and strong griddling performance stand out, and the optional cover is available at a reasonable price. Assembly is described as obnoxious, and the SmartTemp system has a reported failure mode that can leave the grill unusable, with slow warranty support. It looks like a good fit if you want a mid size griddle and are comfortable with some risk.

Common Questions (5)

Some units have reported temperature-sensor failures and uneven heat, with one side hotter than the other, and the SmartTemp component reportedly cannot be bypassed if it fails. Other units have worked well for repeated cooking sessions, so the practical risk is whether you get a good unit.

The flat top is hinged and opens and closes, but it does not appear to be easily removable. That matters if you want a fixed griddle setup rather than a lift-off top.
Taco_Doomsday WooHoo2You
Yes, the official LOCO cover is sold separately and has been seen for about $20 at Ollie's. It's also described as top quality, making it a useful add-on for protecting the griddle.
parn009 PluralOfMoose
Yes, it has been used successfully for smash burgers, tacos, street corn, fajitas, and full breakfasts with pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns. The griddling performance is described as superb once it's up and running.

Assembly is described as very obnoxious, even though the finished grill seems high quality. If you buy one, expect some frustration during setup before you get to cooking.

Bought one. Based on a few of the reviews I went ahead and sprung for the extended warranty (which I usually never do) but it was only $18 for three years. If I can't handle 50¢ a month then I'm doing something wrong.

Bought two. Second one for replacement parts Smilie

Used $15 off $100 HD cc codes with fillers.

Trust me, you do not want this grill. Go visit the Loco Facebook group, nothing but regret from owners. The sam's club one that someone linked is much better.

Fantastic griddle! Seemed like it was a crapshoot, either excellent or doesn't work right. Used it 5x so far--smash burgers, smash tacos, street corn, fajitas, full breakfast with pancakes, bacon eggs and hashbrowns. Everything turns out amazing every time. No complaints and the Loco cover available for it is top quality. Best $99 I spent all summer. Thanks OP.
