The XPS 13 battery, according to reviews I've watched, last >20 hours. This HP is appears to be a Best Buy exclusive and I don't see any battery run times other than mentions of "incredible battery life", and "all day".
Then there is the downside of being on the bleeding edge with Snapdragon -- compatibility. I have a Zenbook A16 with the almost-top-end Snapdragon and so far, haven't really run into compatibility issues (and I really try to stay native ARM64 for my apps with little emulation). So you might not have too much of a problem. I will say that with the Snapdragon CPU running Windows on ARM, Windows is much snappier than the regular x64 versions of Windows that everyone has.
If you do any light gaming, you'll appreciate the Snapdragon GPU vs the low-end Intel graphics on the XPS.
So, as you see, there are lots of different things to consider and decide what your priorities are. There is no "better buy" until you decide what is important to you.
Community Reviews
The OmniBook X 16 stands out as a fast Snapdragon laptop with strong performance for the price, 24GB of RAM, and better light gaming potential than budget Intel rivals. The OLED touch display and extra ports add appeal, and the Windows on ARM experience is described as snappier than regular x64 Windows. The main tradeoffs are the flat keyboard feel, no numpad on the 16 inch model, and some uncertainty around OLED brightness and app compatibility. It looks like a capable all around pick if those compromises fit your needs.
Common Questions (4)
The 16-inch OmniBook X does not have a numpad. It also omits HDMI, so you'll need a USB-C to HDMI adapter or a USB hub with HDMI if you want that output.
The Snapdragon X2 Elite in the HP should be much faster than the budget Intel chip in the XPS 13, especially for general performance and light gaming. The HP also has 24GB RAM versus 16GB on the XPS, which helps multitasking.
The OLED brightness spec around 300 nits can be normal depending on whether it's measured in SDR or HDR. OLED panels can look much brighter in HDR and darker on mostly white screens, so the perceived brightness depends heavily on content and mode.
An Open Box Excellent unit was listed at $820 at Best Buy, which is notably below the $899.99 sale price. That can be a better value if shipping is available for your area.
