I have one of these that I bought new a few years ago. It runs incredibly slowly and it appears the battery is bulging. I would stay away from these.

You can install it without a computer, but it's too old to run most apps on there. And slow. A lot of apps just won't be available to install. Most streaming apps don't work either. Netflix and Prime do, those are on their Fire App Store though.

Bought one for using as a digital photo frame, for 30 bucks, you can't really go wrong for that purpose tbh

Don't buy their junk. Get the samsung ones. These can't be flashed with a custom rom, they become paper weight pretty fast. I got 2 at home. I wish I had gotten a samsung one instead.

I've bought about 6 of these for my little kids for around this price on WOOT. Amazon Kids+ content is pretty good. They run fast though, and are easy to replace if needed. Jus keep screen protectors on them and a good puffy case if you are using them with younger kiddos.

For $22 it isn't worth it to buy cases and screen protectors. Buy extra tablets.

I have three of these. There's a toolkit to remove the bloat and add google services. Two of mine stream any platform and I use one of them to download movies from the internet. For the price this is a good deal, as long as you don't expect to do any moderate to heavy gaming or multitasking on them.

Last i checked the toolkit only worked for CERTAIN devices as it was a cat and mouse game between amazon and XDA/internet ROM devs, and these ones are on the edge as the 2022 ones and higher were not able to be rooted via the toolkit.

I was able to use the toolkit for 2 of these when I purchased them in 2023 for $50 (and now $20). Both work tremendously well even now still, just a bit slower, but the time for ONE of them is stuck on a different time zone and I can't change them. It's just slightly annoying but all the apps still work well. lol
